SOULNOTE E-3MC

E-3MC allows for the complete isolation of three GNDs: the chassis, the left and the right channel. All relay control signals for both the left and right blocks are thoroughly isolated using optocouplers to ensure complete galvanic isolation. By pairing it with models like the A-3 or P-3—which also feature fully independent left and right grounding—you can build a completely isolated ground system where the left and right channels never share a common ground from the cartridge all the way to the speakers. Furthermore, even if the left and right grounds are tied at the turntable, this setup remains exceptionally effective at keeping the grounds separate from that point onward. As a result, it achieves an extraordinarily vast, immersive soundstage alongside organic, deeply emotional music reproduction.

*Depending on the specifications of turntable or tonearm, it may be necessary to connect the left and right GNDs to the chassis. This can be done using the CHASSIS GND button on the front panel.

The newly developed MC Type-R circuit, designed specifically for MC/MM playback. It employs a single-ended configuration where all operations are ground-referenced, eliminating push-pull and bias circuits. This extremely simple non-NFB circuit preserves the freshness of the musical signal with transient response.

The power supply consists of three transformers: a large transformer dedicated to the MC Type-R Circuit with independent left and right circuits, and a transformer for the relay control power supply. For a phono amplifier of only 25W the power consumption, the E-3MC has a power supply capacity equivalent to that of a 500W power amplifier. This margin supports unwavering music reproduction. A power transformer with copper short ring is used as the analog power transformer. This further improves the fine expression by suppressing noise caused by leakage flux.

An ultra-low loss glass tube sealed reed relay that performs similar to a mercury relay as a base has been further customized. This is an original custom relay created by SOULNOTE that can reach sound quality levels comparable to that of wire. The E-3MC uses the RSR-2-12D for all relays involved in sound quality.
